Nice Côte d'Azur Airport

The Air Ministry of France commissioned and privately ran Nice Cote d’Azur Airport in the late1920s. Then, almost two decades later, it became classified as a government airport in 1937. During World Wars i and II, Côte d’Azur Airport was used by the military. In the 1940s, a hard-surface runway was installed at the airfield, which opened up flights to Paris. By 1960, there were a million passengers annually flying in and out of Nice. Since that time, improvements have been made to accommodate a larger number of aircraft, as well as larger aircraft. A second runway was added in 1978. There are currently two terminals at LFMN, with Terminal 1 able to handle four million passengers annually and the newer Terminal 2 accommodating more than eight million passengers.

The airport is located 3.7 miles southwest of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes départment of France. LFMN is positioned 4 miles west of the city centre, and is the principal port of arrival for passengers to the Côte d'Azur. 

● Located near Terminal 2, The Business Aviation Terminal covers 16,000 square feet. Opened in 2010, this terminal contains the operations rooms, VIP lounges, crew lounges, and offices of several business aviation companies. 

● Terminal 1 features 25 gates on a space of 560,000 square feet. 

● More than 13 million people passed through “the gateway to the Riviera” in 2017.
